Default Fixing PUG creation

Forming pugs is taking longer and longer now of days. I can spam what I need and 2 seconds later there will what I need spamming for a group. 5 minutes later that person is still spamming.

I think you should be able to Form a group and give a breif description of what you need. When you come into town there is a window you can open to find out what groups are forming and read their descriptions. This is very similar to how Diablo had their instances set up so Anet is quite familiar with it.

Instead of 5-10 groups trying to form at one time those people could have easily fit into 2-3 groups and been on their way instead of spamming endlessly.

I guess the GW community is ok with 45 minute pug creation. Oh well.

Odd, I can usually find a group in under a minute.

yeah, you're right!
I once idealized a Pug interface.
What's odd is I thought about the very same system Twicky is talking about.
And I *never* played Diablo2.

And 45 minutes to find a full party..then 10 more for setting builds and some more time for everybody say 'rdy'....c'mon life is short!

The only to fix pug creating is to nerf the iway concept. They will do that during the skill balance.

Acually that is going to slow down PUG creation. You can throw IWAY together in minutes because everyone and their mother has a warrior.

Balanced groups are going to be in more demand. That's going to cause a slow down in PUGs.

Actually, IWAY is the reason making groups takes so long. Before IWAY got popular (for whatever idiot reasons), it took ten minutes or less to make ANY other group, even experimental builds. IWAY is the noob plague that prevents smart players from getting a good group together.
On a side note, how the f*** did [Cute] get rank 3 with IWAY??? i refuse to believe 100+ guilds lost to them. I beat them in halls all the time, and I think once in GVG.
Anyway, groups are hard to get because everyone wants to do IWAY, because everyone knows how to do IWAY.
C'mon people, get a brain. IWAY has no hex removal, no healing, and no altar holding capabilities. Why use it? Not to brag, but it took 2 full IWAY groups to kill a 6-man 2-henchie necro spike in halls, and the necros still lasted until 2 minutes left. That is very very sad.

I think if they remove the IWAY then people will have to form balance build - which is good. However the current PUG forming system makes balance build forming inefficient.

Therefore the end solution anet should focus is to make group forming easier and faster.

It's totally funny to see how some trolls hijack every single thread on GWG by posting IWAY related bullshit even in places that didn't even remotely have anything to do with it.

Oh, and /sign for the the idea to create a PUG creation interface.

My main character is trying to get through abaddons mouth, and has been for the past few sessions, but it takes 30 minutes plus to get a group, then the mission takes a while. And if we fail, get ragequitters, or members drop out, then we have to start all over....

Imagine if you wanted to form a group you'd just click a button that opens a window. You type in your build description and fill out a couple of vacancies that require certain builds to fill. Then you sit back and wait.

People who want to join just click a button to open a different window showing them which groups are recruiting that they meet the requirements of and all they have to do is click on one of them to join.

Now that's my idea of a PUG formation.

Some kind of Bulletinboard where you can post group/individuals and what they are looking for:

-------------------------------------------------------------
Carinae Dragonblood - N/Mo - LFG Snowballs/Orders/MF
...
...
-------------------------------------------------------------
Mega MF Team - Needs Snowball Queen
...
...

I would have to say that if the henchies were removed from the game entirely you would get into groups faster and ppl would play better with one another. For eg if anyone said doing Altheas ashes ppl would jump on it and the same with borlis pass.It is far to late in the game to do this though.

Hehe...somehow, I found this quite funny ^^
Waiting for reply *in forum* really tests for patience isn't it?
I'm definitely not ok with 45 minutes of waiting ^^

Anyways...back to the topic, yes I agree. I think GuildWars needs improvement in PuG creation. I like you and other's idea of having some sort of bulletinboard window. Therefore....

It just seemed ironic that something nearly everyone complains about and 24+ no replies. Humor is a good way to get people talking.

What I ment by slow down after IWAY is because of the transition. People have ran IWAY for about 6 months straight. The transition to post IWAY is not going to be easy for some. It might not stay that way forever but I expect to see a slow down till chapter 2 comes out.

I think D2 hit the nail on the head with its instances. In any game I have ever played I have not found a better system for getting people together with the same common goal.

There are many short comings in GW that Windows like these could be used solve. *cough,,,pets*

I like this idea. I think a permanent floating chat/description box on top of the character that expands on click will also do well enough.
